“Before Christa Zamel came into my life, I think I was a “Border-line Hoarder”.  I have a small 1-bedroom apartment that was filled front to back with clutter.   I mean under the bed, behind the couch, over the doors, behind the doors, on both sides of the doors, every empty corner/space/spot, had something in or on it ( I only have one closet).  I saved everything, every Pay stub, letters and all business papers from my late husband (he died in 1977).  My Mom passed away in 1999, I couldn’t throw them away so I saved the papers she had saved (my late father, he died in 1949), my step-father (they were separated over 30yrs), her kids report cards etc.   I still had some clothes dating back to 1987 (size 6 and was too embarrassed to tell Christa this).  I mean my Goodness, I’m a border-line “Plus” size and even if I lose weight, I’ll never be able to put this “Big” Butt in a size 6.  In addition to being a “Clutter-bug I’m also a “Shop-a-holic” (BIG TIME).  I had “STUFF” with tags still attached (that’s what it was, a bunch of “stuff”)  I have a large kitchen and half  of that room was covered on the floor, (all the cabinets were filled to the brim) with every canned, boxed and plastic container of goods you could think of.  I shop at BJ’s so I buy everything in bulk, I live alone, so you tell me why I need so much.  My “warped” thinking is that I never want to run out of anything.  If someone visited my home and asked for something and I didn’t have it, it was bought before that week was out.  Actually, my house looked like a small grocery store.  I tell you all of this because I want you to get a sense of just how bad it was, and I’m not sharing everything (it’s embarrassing).   Finally it came to a point where I was ashamed to invite anyone to my house, even my kids (I knew everyone was whispering about me) and a dawning realization hit me that either I was or was becoming a “HOARDER” (there’s that horrible word again).   That scared me!!!  I decided I wanted to clean-up my act/house by the 2011 New Year, so I could invite my family over for the traditional Southern New Year’s Dinner and I would need help doing it.  I went on line, called a few advertised numbers of Organizers, Clutter-busters and the like and received several responses.  Fortunately, Christa was among them and after speaking with her briefly, she came to access my “DAMAGES”.  I was so embarrassed letting this stranger see the home that I didn’t even want my family to see, but she made me feel so comfortable, I hired her on the spot.  That was the best decision I’d ever made.  Christa assembled Cabinets in my kitchen (finally, everything’s off the floor), a Linen closet in my little alcove and a huge wardrobe in my living room (it looks like a wall unit so no one knows unless I tell them).  We must have thrown out about 30 bags of trash, given away at least 15 to 20 bags of clothes to charity Bins and donated my couch, kitchen dining set and a large office cabinet to the Salvation Army.  I shredded at least 20 bags of paper.  Christa did everything, even to hanging my pictures on the wall and organizing the clothes in the Dresser drawers.   Everything is so neat and organized now, it amazes me every time I walk into MY house.  Well, I had my family over for the New Year, they were shocked to see the changes (they didn’t know about the “NEW” me)  I’ve never been so proud and I can’t thank Christa enough for all she’s done for me.  Every time someone comes into my home now they are full of compliments.  You can’t imagine how good that makes me feel.  I know, I know, this was supposed to be a brief testimonial but it took more than a brief moment to make that “MESS”  surely you can understand it would take an “Essay” to describe it and I didn’t tell you the half of it. (smile)  Trust me, you’ll have no regrets if you leave everything in Christa’s hands, I know I’m quite pleased.”  -  BCH
